About Explorers
Explorers is where young people aged 14-18 take control of their own adventure! This is the ultimate Scouting experience, combining high-adventure activities, leadership development, and real-world skills that prepare young people for adult life.
Our Explorer Unit is youth-led, with young people planning their own programme, leading expeditions, and taking on significant responsibilities. Explorers develop independence, confidence, and leadership skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
Explorers work towards the Explorer Belt and Duke of Edinburgh's Award, while also having opportunities for international expeditions, community leadership, and life-changing adventures.
What We Do
High-adventure activities including kayaking, wilderness expeditions, and challenging outdoor pursuits that push personal limits.
Leading the unit, planning programmes, managing budgets, and taking real responsibility for the sections's activities and direction.
Working towards Bronze, Silver, and Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Awards through expeditions, skill development, volunteering, and physical challenges.
Opportunities for international expeditions, World Scout Jamborees, and global citizenship projects that broaden horizons and create lifelong memories.
Developing leadership skills by taking responsibility for planning and running activities for younger sections, mentoring, and leading by example.
Leading community service projects, mentoring younger Scouts, and making a real difference in the local community through meaningful action.
